Pete Wayre has been a very well respected & established Vocalist of the highest calibre for 13 years. Performing in London’s West End in a Fringe show, he has also worked with celebrities such as Jason Donovan, The Real Thing, Jeremy Beadle, Jeffry Archer, Joe Pasquale, Richard Digance and many more. He has fought hard to gain recognition on the 1940′s event circuit and is seeing a stead influx of bookings for 40′s events. People seeing that the alternative to the female acts can be an advantage and they are pleasantly surprised at just how effective he is. His immense versatility and musical prowess reigns supreme. He genuinely is an international Singer having embarked on tours of Spain, Menorca, Ibiza, Germany& Guernsey amongst continuing to perform all over the United Kingdom.
Having won awards such as Entertainer of the Year and other prestigious accolades across the UK, he sets the stage to make a truly remarkable evenings entertainment. Not just standing on the spot singing songs, but a keen advocate of audience participation and being an “entertainer”. You often see him in amongst the audience getting everyone involved.
Pete has a vast collection of tracks of the 40′s which include the Music Hall classics, Jazz, Swing & Jive. Some of these can be found on the 40′s information pages. Pete has been booked to perform at some amazing events over the years and 2012 saw him perform at the Specsavers Liberation Tea Dance & Hangar Ball. Being lucky enough to sing with the Syd Lawrence Orchestra in a set of sing-a-long classics. He has worked with the leading 1940′s acts in the country including the D-Day Darlings, Heather Marie McHale, Lola Lamour, P.E.C Esquire (Paul Casper) and more. He offers that something just a little bit different that works well with the standard formats many 1940′s events are so used to. Variety after all is the spice of life! Many bookers are now taking a chance on something different and booking a guy over a girl, and it is proving to be a phenomenal success. After all, not all singers in the 40′s were the Andrews Sisters and Vera Lynn. Pete encapsulates the era with many lesser performed tracks such as Just A Gigolo, When You’re Smiling, Let’s Face The Music & Dance, Kalamazoo and sneeks in a few cheeky later era additions to keep the lively feel. He regularly performs the UK based classics such as Long Way To Tipperary, Roll Out The Barrell, Lambeth Walk & Leaning On a Lamp Post.
So for all your Wartime Ear Singers needs, Robbie Williams Tributes, DJ or Mixed Music for Weddings, Pete can do it all and is the ultimate choice to make it the most memorable event that it can be.
